One cold morning during the holidays, I went for a long walk and happened upon a sidewalk covered in beautiful fallen leaves. This is an uncommon site for a native Floridian like me. Delighted, I gathered a few of the large leaves and brought them back to my studio where they served as inspiration for Welcoming Winter. (When viewed in person, the play of light in these companion paintings appears to glow!)
