Artist's Note
With the death of beloved family members, health challenges, and continued isolation due to COVID and the fact that my husband and I are both immunocompromised, the past year has been extremely challenging. The new year brought with it a feeling of peace that I have not felt in a while.
While working on this painting, as I scraped layers and layers of acrylic to reveal the beautiful gold beneath, a feeling of serenity came to life on the canvas - the same feeling that is rising in my spirit. The Buddha statue in front feels like the finishing touch on this amazing work of art.
