When I shattered my kneecap and could no longer begin each day with my usual 4–5 mile walk, something unexpected bloomed in its place. The energy I once poured into movement now flows into color, canvas, and quiet reflection. Nearly every morning, I rise and paint.

 

During this time of healing, dear friends have sent me the most exquisite flowers and orchids—gestures of kindness that have deeply touched me. Their beauty, and the love behind them, have become part of my palette. Each petal, each stem, each note of encouragement has inspired this piece.

 

Orchids in Bloom is a 48” x 36” oil painting on gallery-wrapped canvas. It is both a tribute and a transformation—prolonging the grace of those blooms and the generosity they represent, so their spirit may linger long after the petals fade.
