Partially hidden in this painting is a portion of a poem written by my favorite poet, Mary Oliver. Look closely and you will find these words, excerpted from Oliver's poem, "The Summer Day":  

Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
With your one wild and precious life?

In tough times, I often ask myself, “What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life, Cindy?” It motivates me to keep going and working to make the world a little more beautiful!
